We checked out the Cango Ostrich Farm on our road trip a few weeks back (which already feels like ages ago and already feels like we need another holiday) and it was a really lovely experience.
The Farm is located in the Cango Valley, about 14km outside of Oudtshoorn on the main road towards the Cango Caves which means there is no reason not to pop in for a quick visit 🙂
We joined in on one of the guided tours – which leave every 20 minutes and last 45min per tour.
During the tour we stopped off for a quick look at the eggs & incubators, visited cute little Betsie who is their super smiley and friendly female ostrich, walked through the farm to say hello to all the other ostriches and fed some of the hungry ones while getting a neck massage at the same time 🙂
Pretty Betsy 🙂
Neck Massage time 🙂
There wasn’t any ostrich riding available on the day because it had been raining and it was too muddy and slippery for the big birds… (UN)fortunately… BUT usually you can go for a little ride on their backs if you wish 🙂
The tour was very interesting and a lot of fun and our guide was so funny and knowledgeable.
