A few weeks back I told you all about the exciting new City Music Quiz that was being hosted by Gourmet Boerie every Monday night…
Welllll… we have been dying to check it out so we grabbed a few friends earlier this week and headed down to Kloof Street to see what all the fuss was all about… AND IT WAS FAB! I am just going to go right ahead and say this – Gourmet Boerie ROCKS!
This place is so great, from the moment we walked in, we felt relaxed and pretty soon the restaurant was buzzing with everyone ready to get their boerie roll and quiz vibes on!
The food was soooooo yummy!
Majority of our table ordered the Mexicana Boerie roll (Tomato salsa, sour cream, guacamole, jalapeño chilli, coriander and cos lettuce), 1 x Hangover Boerie roll (Bacon, caramelised pineapple and avocado with cheese sauce), 1 x Breakfast Boerie Roll (Scrambled eggs with bacon, grilled cherry tomatoes and a chive hollandaise sauce on the side) and I ordered the Boerie Sliders so that I could taste a little bit of all of them (The mexicano, The hangover, The Gorgonzola, Shroom Sause, Old Skool Boerie) – Mexicano was my favourite one 🙂 I will be back for a big one of these babies SOON!
The quiz theme for the night was girl bands vs boy bands and there were 4 rounds. Two rounds of questions (one focusing on girl bands and one on boy bands) and another two rounds of song clips where we had to guess the artists and names of the songs. It was a lot of fun – Rhys Woods was charming and funny and the time went by super fast and before we knew it, our team (the peanut gallery) had won 3rd place 🙂 not too shabby hey… and our prize… beer glasses. The prizes were very cool – beer tours, bottles of wine, vouchers etc.
A big thank you to Gourmet Boerie for having us. We had a smashing time 🙂 Everything was just perfect – food, drinks, entertainment and last but definitely not least…the service – top marks guys!
