Doolhof Wine Estate in Wellington

The Wellington Winelands is home to some beautiful Wine Estates. Doolhof Wine Estate is one of them and is less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town. Their tasting room is situated in the original wagon house built in the late 19th century. The inside area is warm and cosy and leads out onto a lovely veranda with tables and chairs set out. We have been to Doolhof twice now and both times we have chosen to enjoy our tasting up at “private table” a little away from the others under a massive shady tree. It is so relaxing and peaceful.

Food wise – you can enjoy light lunch options in the tasting area or you could order one of the picnics to enjoy down at the river. The picturesque Kromme River runs through the Estate and there is a beautiful river walk with little picnic spots along the way. We actually did this with some friends a couple of years back (before blogging days) and it was really great. We spent a good few hours along the river – eating, drinking and chatting away.
