The Italian Kitchen in Newlands

collage

The Italian Kitchen in Newlands is a welcome new addition to the Southern Suburbs. The restaurant is modern, comfortable and family-friendly. We popped in for a week night dinner and the buzz was great with plenty of tables filled with family and friends enjoying delicious Italian food in the super relaxed and cozy atmosphere.

Their menu is extensive. From starters like Camembert or Mussels to Salads, Gourmet Pizzas, Pastas, Rissottos, Burgers or Ribs. There is a little something for everyone. The food is Italian but with true South African flair thrown in 🙂

We both ordered pizza and I am so glad we did because these guys know how to make a good pizza. Thin based, wood fired, crispy, big and deliciously scrumptious. The pizza menu is pretty big. There are loads of different flavours and toppings to choose from. Normally this would send me over the edge (I am very, very bad at making decisions) BUT no probs at the Italian Kitchen because they have this pizza called The Kitchen Zinc which has a slice of 8 of their most popular pizzas in one. One pizza with 8 different slices = heaven!
